Company History
A & K MacKay Building Company Pty Ltd was established in 1982. At the time the business was principally involved with larger businesses in commercial and industrial project management.
An opportunity arose in 1992 to become more involved in the residential building industry renovating and extension of homes. It appeared that other building businesses were more eager to erect new dwellings rather than renovate old established homes, re-creating a market that appeared forgotten in the new home boom. A & K MacKay Building Company Pty Ltd met the demand for renovations and extensions through a network of reliable, highly-skilled tradesmen, prompt suppliers and quality products.
In 1999 A & K MacKay Building Company Pty Ltd was approached to build fourteen aged care units in the Newcastle area. This project marked a turning point for the company into a new market – units for the general public and aged care facilities.
Today, A & K MacKay Building Company Pty Ltd employs 7 people. The company has a proven history of strong working relationships with its clientele resulting in repeat business from satisfied clients.

MICHAEL JEFFS | SENIOR ESTIMATOR
With over 30 years in the Building and Construction Industry. Has been involved in all areas and facets of the industry – residential,
commercial and industrial. Restoration works. Has experience in all types of works from large projects such as multi storey, multiplex units through to maintenance and restoration works.
IAN CONVERY | SUPERVISOR
With over 35 years in the Building and Construction Industry. Has been involved in all areas and facets of the industry – residential and commercial. Has experience in large projects such as multiplex units, school extensions through to maintenance works.
READE MOFFAT | LEADING FOREMAN
